Janus P. Ong, MD, MPH

Dr. Janus Ong is a hepatologist and clinical investigator at the Center for Liver Diseases. Dr. Ong graduated from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine, and subsequently completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Yale University. After his residency, he completed a three-year fellowship in gastroenterology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, and spent the following year as a Hepatology Fellow at the Liver Disease Section of the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Ong was awarded a scholarship from the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases for advanced fellowship at the Center for Liver Diseases, and obtained his Master of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Ong is an Affiliate Professor of the Center for the Study of Genomics in Liver Diseases at George Mason University. He is currently performing clinical research in Liver Diseases, in particular NonAlcoholic Fatty Liver Disease and Viral Hepatitis.
