Tracey Lynn Koehlmoos, PhD, MHA  


 

Dr. Koehlmoos is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Health Administration and Policy within the College of Health and Human Services.  She received her Doctorate of Philosophy in Health Services Research from the University of South Florida’s College of Public Health in 2005.  Dr. Koehlmoos is a nationally recognized, award-winning health researcher and writer. She is a fellowship-trained health administrator who successfully spearheaded the efforts of an 800-bed acute care facility through the prestigious ANCC Magnet designation process. Also, she has worked for the United Nations as an International Monitor and Observer (“Vaccine Warrior”) in Nepal.  She is a frequent guest lecturer on risk factors and early detection of breast cancer.  Her research areas of interest include population outcomes, disparities, and international health and health system.

Dr. Koehlmoos teaches Introduction to the US Healthcare System, Organizational Behavior, and is developing a course in Comparative International Health Systems. She is pioneering global teaching and learning through the production and implementation of web-based courses within the Department of Health Administration and Policy. Dr. Koehlmoos divides her time between Virginia and Bangladesh.

In her personal life, Dr. Koehlmoos is the wife of Lieutenant Colonel Randall L. Koehlmoos, US Army, and the mother of Robert (11), Michael (10) and David (7).  When she isn’t doing research or teaching, she enjoys working out, learning foreign languages, reading and trekking.
