The Center for the Study of Genomics in Liver Diseases was created at George Mason University in order to bring together teams of clinical investigators and basic scientists for excellence in research in this dynamic and fast-growing area.

The Center is located on George Mason University's Prince William Campus in the Innovations@Prince William technology corridor near Manassas, Virginia. The Center is part of the College of Arts and Sciences' Life Sciences initiative. It is housed in the secure laboratory facilities of Prince William Building 2. It functions within the Microarray Facility and Cell Culture Laboratory. Research is supported by and supports the graduate faculty and students of the Department of Molecular and Microbiology.

The Center has a collaborative relationship with Inova Health System's Center for Liver Diseases located in the Fairfax Hospital. This relationship allows simultaneous clinical and laboratory studies of the functional genomic basis for liver diseases.
